HISTORY:
Central Florida Underground, Inc. was incorporated in the
state of Florida in 1967 by Mr. D.A. Foster, founder of
NUCA, as a subsidiary company of Potomac Industry - D.A.
Foster Trenching, Inc. of Fairfax, Virginia. Originally the
facility was located in Winter Park, Florida, on Clay
Street. As Central Florida Underground, Inc. evolved, work
for the local municipalities was bid, and also to Southern
Bell. In 1986 the company relocated its' facility to the
current location in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
TODAY:
In Altamonte Springs our office and on site vehicle
maintenance shop consists of 7,200 square feet and sits on
two acres of property. We have been able to obtain and
retain a core of employees that are dedicated to their jobs.
This dedication has helped Central Florida Underground
maintain many local clients and vendors throughout our 45
years. As an example each of our foremen have built a
reputation with our clients which gives testament to our
company motto "Committed to Quality". We are proud to

SAFETY:
Safety is of key importance within our company and is not
taken for granted. CFU is a drug free work-place as a
prerequisite for employment. CFU is also a equal employment
opportunity employer. A safety program is maintained which
includes of a weekly safety meeting at our home facility on
each Monday morning. These meetings are mandatory for all
employees. Tool Box talks are distributed to each Forman to
utilize each morning at their job sites emphasizing their
project safety codes. Incentive drawings are held once a
month depending upon injury status.
All CFU employees have received First Aid and CPR
training and have been certified. Our welders are American
Welding Society (AWS) Certified and our crane operators
receive certification for the equipment they operate At the
safety meeting it is emphasized that all equipment should be
inspected prior to use each day. Our Superintendent and
Safety Director Ronnie Willis, has a Certificate of
Completion for successfully completing the OSHA 30 Hour
Outreach Training for the Construction Industry.
All employees have received training for CSX Roadway
Worker Protection.
